Education Commission
Mission
The mission of the Saint James Education Commission is to:
- Initiate and evaluate programs concerning Catholic education for the children and adults in our parish that meet the personal and spiritual needs of each parishioner.
- Work closely with the pastor, school administrators and all other parish organizations to formulate and recommend policies that will enable the parish community to reach its educational goals.
- Promote better understanding of the programs concerning Catholic Education and to support Christian values within the parish community.

Duties
The Saint James Education Commission has the responsibility to:
- Recommend, review, and develop policies and work with other parish organizations on the planning of educational programs, parish operations, maintenance of facilities and equipment, long-range planning and finance.
- Support the Pastor in the process of hiring school administrative personnel.
- Review and approve the operating budget for all educational programs before those budgets are submitted to Finance Committee.
Meetings & Members
- The Commission meets on the second Thursday of each month during the school year. All regularly scheduled meetings are open to active members of the parish.
- There are 12 elected members on the Commission; each who serves a three year term. The non-voting members include: the Principal, Assistant Principal, Teacher Representative, Director of Religious Education, Representative from the PTO, and a Representative from the St. James Athletic Association.
