Education Commission

The mission of the Saint James Education Commission is to:

Initiate and evaluate programs concerning Catholic education for the children and adults in our parish that meet the personal and spiritual needs of each parishioner.
Work closely with the pastor, school administrators and all other parish organizations to formulate and recommend policies that will enable the parish community to reach its educational goals.
Promote better understanding of the programs concerning Catholic Education and to support Christian values within the parish community.

The Saint James Education Commission has the responsibility to:

Recommend, review, and develop policies and work with other parish organizations on the planning of educational programs, parish operations, maintenance of facilities and equipment, long-range planning and finance.
Support the Pastor in the process of hiring school administrative personnel.
Review and approve the operating budget for all educational programs before those budgets are submitted to Finance Committee.

The Commission meets on the second Thursday of each month during the school year. All regularly scheduled meetings are open to active members of the parish.
There are 12 elected members on the Commission; each who serves a three year term. The non-voting members include: the Principal, Assistant Principal, Teacher Representative, Director of Religious Education, Representative from the PTO, and a Representative from the St. James Athletic Association.
